2005-6 brings us another varied season, beginning with a very varied week as our latest Supernova takes to the stage featuring almost everything that can be presented to an audience. We then take in classic Coward, historical violence (but with a thoughtful twist, a consideration of growing up and a new comedy. Truely something for everyone! If there is a theme, perhaps it is the idea that there are hidden depths to our season. Four Nights may be at first glance a violent piece about 4 rather unpleasant men and the concequences of their violence, but look beyond the swearing and the coarse humour and you can engage with a real discussion of faith, loyalty and love - issues that touch the lives of those of us not living in the 12th century, or relying on beating people up for a living. Golden Pathway Annual is a very watchable collection of sketches providing a nice contrast of theatrical style which invites the viewer to what growing up is really all about. Modern Art is on the surface the theme of 'Art' but isn't it really about friendship? So our audience can take away as much as they wish from our plays this year, and we encourage you to see them twice to see what strikes you the second time. Don't forget, if you are a Back Bench member, you can see any Bench show as many times as you like - your ticket is still free.
